NEWS: Thom Yorke forms live group for solo material.

Haven’t blogged in a while, sorry. Only got our internet back a couple of days ago. Though thanks go out to Telstra for actually being very prompt with checking the line and fixing it.
Anyway.

It was very recently announced that Thom Yorke has formed a band to help him play his solo stuff from The Eraser and his other releases live.
The band consists of himself, Flea (of Red Hot Chili Peppers), Nigel Godrich (long-time producer of Radiohead albums), Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco. I haven’t heard of the latter 2 before, but these shows sound like they could be something quite special.

Should be interesting anyway. Especially with Flea. Unfortunately YouTube will have to be my platform for viewing this, unless they decide to pop over to Australia. Here’s hoping.

  1. I started listening to Radiohead a fair bit at the moment. I can see why you like them so much.

As much as I love Australia, it’s a bit of a bummer being so far away from everything, escpecially international bands.
At least we’re lucky enough to have youtube and the internet so we can watch these kind of things.

    1. That’s true. I wouldn’t mind forking out the dollars to see Radiohead if they came here, but a lot of the time I hear them talking about how because of their stance on global warming and climate change they don’t wanna ship a whole show and stuff over here and do it all. Which is slightly frustrating, but I suppose they don’t wanna seem hypocritical.

  2. I live in Melbourne too. Paid $340 to see Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, Moby, Editors etc at Falls. Would gladly pay that much to see Radiohead here.

Oh and the other things. AS IF someone from RHCP is playing with Thom! :O
That’s going to end so many heated forum debates over who is the better band.
